Slip 'n' Slide, 2011

We just had our 2nd Annual Slip 'n' Slide party. Now, this isn't your K-mart special slide. Nope. We do things right. We lay out a 10ft x 100ft strip of plastic, stake it down, toss a few hoses on it and go! For those of you familiar with our back yard, you know the hill is perfect for this activity. The slide spans the entire back yard. Running begins in the neighbors yard (up the hill) and the mud-pit just touches the neighbor's down the hill. The initial run is a bit intimidating, but then the bumps and bruises (and there are lots) are 100% worth the fun. A few pics....

Here we go!

The slide entertained 43 people (not counting kiddos) for the entire afternoon. Creativity blossomed, so sliding soon included frisbees, beach balls, and trying to go down on our feet. Groups went, people laughed, and luckily there were no major injuries!

We take care of the kiddos too! This was a huge hit.

Mass of people at the bottom.

Audrey wanted to do the big slide, so Jenn (Aunt Jenn) and I took her time and time again. We'd plop her on her bottom and pull/push her down with us. At the bottom she'd be so excited, the only word she could form was, "AGAIN!!". I'm glad she was fearless. That's my girl!

Audrey loved the big slide too. Again!!!!

Jenn and I had prepared a huge spread of food, so people stayed into the night. Rounds of games were played, and many laughs were heard throughout the house. Luckily Audrey was so exhausted from being outside all afternoon, she just slept right through it all.

Girls post-sliding.

Things got a bit silly in the garage. Good times with good friends.

I had to take one last slide....in the dark!

Next year will be the 3rd Annual. Let me know if you want an invite, as the date is already set!

P.S. Be warned, you will be sore for days after. But it's a good sore. :)
