My lovely mother-in-law was just here for a visit. We were lucky to have her, and only wish her husband could have come along too. Next time, for sure. While she was here, we decided to hit up a new event for the Heskin Family. The National Apple Harvest Festival! Yep, it does exist, my dear apple-afficionados. So we tossed the trusty ever-packed diaper bag into the car, jumped in and headed west to Biglerville. Now, if you pay close attention, you'll recall that Biglerville is also home to the Peach Festival we attended a while back. Not realizing the scale of this new apple-centric event, we were shocked when we parked in a field the size of at least 5 football fields and soon saw lines of school buses ready to shuttle us to the festival. Audrey was enjoying getting to
finally say "SCHOOL BUS!" over and over in an appropriate manner.
Buses dropping people off at the festival.
We hit up the petting zoo right off the bat, where Audrey seemed more interesting in climbing the bars than petting the "ammals".
Her legs were often off the ground, knees pulled up to her belly.
Here in the heart of PA, we often see things that,...well,...you just might never see any place else. What was it this time? Antique Tractor Square Dancing. You have to see it to believe it, but these tractors really did do a square dance.
No comment necessary.
Heskin ladies.
Later we found an indoor (read cooler) venue where they had cloggers. Yep, square dancing tractors AND cloggers. Audrey loved the tunes and was soon doing her dance in the aisle along with some other tots.
