Christmas 2011, Installment 3, Christmas

Christmas Eve and Christmas. Fun! At 1pm on Christmas Eve, Santa comes to the town tree. It was a sunny, blue-sky Colorado day. We bundled up the sprouts and walked up main street, hearing carols trickle down the street as the town band played on the corner.

CousinsSanta! His reindeer are resting outside of town, ya know.

Waiting.....

It was finally our turn. The deal is sit in Santa's sleigh, tell him what you want and you get a big 'ole bag of candy. Audrey wasn't too sure, but did well. This is the closest she has ever been to Santa, and no tears!! Her bag of candy weighed at least five pounds. I helped her out by telling Santa what she wanted. I'd hate for her to get something like socks!

We went to Christmas Eve church. Music was piano, marimba, harmonica and cello (??). Yep, only in Silverton. But it worked! We sung by candle light and crunched through the cold snow on the way home. Kiddos in bed, egg nog and rum in hand, the adults enjoyed the night.

Audrey only wanted a Minnie Mouse. Guess what?

Minnie!

She was so happy with Minnie, we almost had to force her to dig through her stocking.

Stocking as big as her!

Ice crystals on my mom's car, Christmas morning.

Silverton

My favorite mountain.

James took some fantastic pictures. He was excited to take night sky pics of the stars, since there is nearly zero light pollution up on our mountain passes (11,000').
